WINNIPEG, MB, September 5, 2018 – Canadian Masters athletes have returned home from the International Racquetball Federation World Senior Championships with podium results.
Jack and Marion McBride of St. Albert and Reg Atkins of Calgary medaled at the tournament which was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico from August 28 to September 3, 2018.
Jack McBride won a gold medal in the 80+ men’s singles event and bronze in the 75+ men’s doubles event with partner Luke St. Onge of Colorado.
Marion McBride won silver in the 75+ women’s doubles event with partner Nidia Funes of California.
Reg Atkins won bronze in the 60+ men’s doubles event with partner Tony Onimole who was competing for Nigeria.
183 participants from 14 countries took part in the tournament. The World Senior Championships are an open event that is held every year. There are a number of age divisions in both singles and doubles events.
